Fit for a Queen (That’s You!)
I was thinking about something to today and I wanted to share it with all of you. We all have parts of our body that we wish we could change. Some of us want a smaller waist, smaller legs, bigger legs, toned arms, toned abs or just simply want to lose pounds. Personally, I have great genetics that keeps me looking fit even though I am not. Being fit isn’t about what you look like. It’s about how you FEEL on the inside. My mom, for instance, does not have a muscular build. She barely has time to paint her nails much less hit the gym daily! But you know what? She keeps to a healthy diet which helps her body stay happy and fit, so even though she doesn’t look like the next fitness model, she is still happy with herself because she feeds her body happy nutrients.
Greasy foods and caffeine are known to make the body feel bloated, full or even fatigued. Your body has to work super hard to break these items down so it can either store or get rid of the waste (90% of the time it stores it!). If you change your meals from greasy to low fat and high nutrient, you will definitely be able to feel the difference in your body. Your body will be happier because it does not have to deal with these “bad” nutrients. Instead you are giving it items it can use freely and burn off. This in turn helps you to store less of the fat your body can’t burn off and reduces the bloating.
One of the biggest “bloating” nutrients is lactose. Although, I recommend everyone should eat at least one small container of yogurt a day to help your digestive track, I do not recommend eating a ton of dairy products. Lactose is found in most dairy products. While I am not saying cut out your dairy products, I am saying pay attention to products that are made of mostly lactose. Items such as whole milk, cheddar cheese, Ice Cream and milk-shakes are really hard for your body to break down. Until your body can break these items down for use or storage, you will feel bloated and full. You can instead choose items that are made for those who are lactose intolerant. You can buy Soy Milk (which alone taste horrible!) that is vitamin fortified, so you don’t miss out on your much needed calcium and vitamin D. If you mix a small amount of vanilla flavoring to soy milk the taste is more like a vanilla milk shake.
It’s not being “thin” that makes us happy, it’s feeling “thin” that makes us happy. Beauty really does start on the inside just try these simply diet changes and you are guaranteed to feel more energized and healthier within a week.
The one thing to remember when dieting is this: your body is a surviving machine. If you feed it regularly with the nutrients it NEEDS to run it is less likely to try to store excess nutrients. If you are not eating often enough or you are eating foods that doesn’t contain any of your bodily needs, then instead of burning it, your body will store everything. Your body stores it because it doesn’t know when it’s next feeding will be and it doesn’t want to run low on its nutrients. Your body wants to survive and rather you like it or not, it will store what it feels it needs to in order to survive to the next feeding. Feed your body what it needs to survive and the only thing it will want to do is give you more energy to go out and get its next meal.
